Down time with a difference!
Our Family Aerial Yoga classes encourage all members of the family to connect with each other, play & support one another.
Here at Yodanga Arts we wanted to create a class where families could spend some quality time together whilst gaining skills in relaxation, mindfulness & play. During each six week course we will embark on imaginative adventures that promote the importance of health, fitness, creativity and individuality. But also equip each family member with a range of relaxation techniques that they can access if/when they should need too.
What to expect…
Our Family Aerial Yoga classes will always feature a combination of Grounded & Aerial Yoga. Everything we do in the air can be translated to a grounded movement so there is no pressure to fly if that doesn’t take your fancy. Our Family Aerial Yoga classes will follow a simple yet effective structure each week as we believe having some structure & consistency is useful for our younger yogis.
The Opening Circle
We will begin each session by coming together as a group to check in with everyone and share experiences we’ve had over the past week.
Let’s Get Warm
We will play a few movement based games to get our bodies moving & our blood pumping
This is where we’ll dive into our specific lesson theme, exploring the different poses & breath practises to help us connect with our bodies & each other
Let’s Wind Down
Towards the end of each session we will invite everyone to wind down & find some stillness. A great chance to relax, reflect & reconnect
The Closing Circle
Before everyone heads off home, we meet back in a circle to check in with everyone once again and share thoughts/feelings about the session
Family Aerial Yoga – additional information
Aerial Yoga combines well-known Yoga poses with the added support of a Yoga Hammock. Using an Aerial Sling will give you & your children the opportunity to improve your strength, flexibility, coordination, stamina, and fitness in a fun environment. During our six week course, we will cover breathing & relaxation techniques, yoga poses (Grounded & Aerial) and beginners aerial tricks – including basic inversions & spins.
There are so many incredible health benefits linked to participating in an Aerial Yoga class.

This class sometimes includes inversions. Inversions are great and offer a number of health benefits but some health conditions can make inversions unsafe. If you or your child has any medical conditions, please inform the instructor before the start of the class and they will give you and/or your child some alternative poses that will not put them in harms way.
