Stephanie Townsend created and founded Yodanga Arts in January 2016.
Stephanie grew up in Newbury, Berkshire where she developed a passion for the Performing Arts. Growing up, Stephanie attended a number of dance classes & began working as a teaching assistant. This experience inspired her decision to opt for a career in Dance. In 2009, Stephanie began her degree at Coventry University, studying a BA (Hons) Dance Making and Performance. She graduated three years later with a First Class Honours Degree.
Training & Experience
Throughout her degree, Stephanie continued to teach a range of dance styles to students aged 3-18years. She was also fortunate enough to gain valuable experience teaching children with physical, mental and hearing disabilities. Stephanie still continues to teach on a daily basis and thoroughly enjoys sharing everything she has learnt, with her students.
During her time at Coventry University, Ashtanga Yoga became one of Stephanie’s favourite hobbies. She has continued to practice Yoga three to four times a week for the past seven years. As her love for Yoga grew, she finally trained to become a Yoga Instructor in January 2015.
Throughout her Yoga training, Stephanie developed an interest in Aerial Yoga and Aerial Hoop. The benefits and enjoyment, that Aerial Yoga emits, drew her in and in no time at all, Stephanie trained to be an Aerial Yoga Instructor with Wild Lotus Studio (Newbury, Berkshire). Alongside this, in August 2015, Stephanie completed her Sun & Moon Partner and Community Yoga Teacher Training and has hosted a number of Partner Yoga workshops during 2016.
